PDSA Companion Dog Show

Well another year passes and another PDSA show came and went. There was our dedicated team ready and eager to set up the rings. I made a management decision this year to move the ring as far away from the football players as we could as every year we have the same problem with them wanting to play where we have just set up! One year we even had to move all our rings just as we got set up with about half an hour to go before the show opened. This year they didn't come to play anywhere near us. Typical!!!

We have got a finely tuned setting up team now, everyone knows what needs doing and we were set up in a record 30 mins and having a cup of tea and eating biscuits by just after 9am. The rain kept threatening to come but it held off for the whole day.

Our judges as always were on top form and eager to get people in the rings working. Once again we had a really good turn out, lots of new faces and as I walked round it was so good to hear people saying what a good time they were having. It makes it all worthwhile, all the effort we all put in to making it a successful day.

The day went really smoothly, we just over ran a little but the judges wanted to give everyone the chance to work their dogs. Kat with Milly and John with Louis came along from our intermediate class at obedience and did us proud so well done to you two. Many people asked if we would be doing the show again next year as they wanted to come again and were going to bring all their friends, so hopefully we will be even busier next year. We raised nearly £90 in the obedience section but overall they made a profit of £1,265.60. We had a celebration as well this year as it was Nigel our Intermedate judge’s birthday. So I asked Kat on her way in to get us some cakes and at the end of the day it was nice to finish up with a chorus of Happy Birthday and cakes for all.

Lastly I would like to thank all the people from obedience that came to help, as show manager it makes my day a lot easier knowing we have a great team that know what they are doing and just get on with things. I really enjoyed my day again this year, actually by the time I got home my face hurt from smiling so much.

Thank you to my A team!
